Seminar Visualization to support test assembly

Abstract
Human-algorithm interaction can be challenging. This also holds for the area of test assembly, where complex combinatorial optimization algorithms have been developed to select sets of items from an item bank. These  algorithms are implemented in a test assembly practice where content experts and psychometricians have to make decisions on the input of the algorithms and have to judge the quality of the output. In this paper, it is shown how visualization can facilitate the interaction and it will be argued that the use of visualization will improve the quality of the test assembly process.
